6 Years
Pharm. D
Structure
5 years study in college + 1 year mandatory hospital internship.
Eligibility
Pass in 12th standard / PUC / HSC / Intermediate with Physics and Chemistry. Age: 17+ years.
Academics & Exams
- Attendance: Min. 80% in theory & practical mandatory.
- Internal Assessment: 3 sessional exams (max 30 marks). Average of best 2 considered.
- Passing Marks: 50% in each subject compulsory.
Practical & Internship
- Clinical Facility: Shridevi Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Hospital, Tumkur.
- Posting: ≥75 hours covered in ≥200 working days (II, III, IV yr). V yr: daily morning ward rounds (clerkship).
- Project Work: Supervised, HOD-approved topic. Presented as a seminar; assessed by internal/external examiners.
- Internship: 1 year mandatory in VI year after passing all previous theory & practicals.
2 Years
M. Pharm
Structure
4 semesters (6 months each). Sem 1 & 2: Coursework. Sem 3 & 4: Project/Dissertation work.

B. Pharm from RGUHS or any PCI-recognized university with minimum 50% marks.

Academics & Exams
- Attendance: Min. 80% in theory & practical regular classes.
- Sessional: 2 examinations conducted for 30 marks (theory & practical).
- University Exam: Sem 1 & 2 exams at semester end. Dissertation submitted in Sem 3 & 4, with viva voce at the end of Sem 4.
4 Years
B. Pharm
Structure
4 Years (8 Semesters). Lateral entry to II year available for D. Pharm pass-outs.
Eligibility & Age
10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Math/CS/Biotechnology/Biology with 40% marks (35% for reserved categories). Age: 17+ years as on 31st Dec of admission year.
Industrial Tour & Training
- After III or IV year: Practical training in pharmaceutical manufacturing houses, approved hospitals, or CSIR research labs for ≥150 hours (covered in ≥45 days).
- Must submit two copies of the training report, duly certified by the training center authorities.
- Final year candidates must visit several pharmaceutical manufacturing houses and submit a report to the Principal.
2 Years
D. Pharm
Course Duration
2 years, including practical training of 500 hours spread over a period of not less than 3 months in a government hospital / pharmacy / chemists & druggists.
Eligibility & Age
- Eligibility: A pass in Pre-university course / 10+2 / PDC / Intermediate / Higher Secondary examination in Science with Physics and Chemistry as optional subjects.
- Age: 17 Years and above as on 31st December of the year of admission.
Academics & Exams
- Attendance: A minimum of 80% in both theory and practical classes is mandatory to get eligibility for sessional / internal assessment as well as annual examination.
- Internal Assessment: Three periodic sessional / internal assessment examinations in theory and practical during the academic year for maximum marks of 20 per subject. Average of the best two sessional marks will be considered.
- Board Exam: Examination will be conducted by the Board of Examination Authority, Drugs Control Department, Bengaluru.
Hospital Training
After having appeared in the final examination of second year, the student must undergo 500 hours of practical training in a government hospital / pharmacy / chemists & druggists which is recognized by the Pharmacy Council of India, New Delhi.
